Well first off, my name is Chris. Not Christopher please, only my parents call me that. It's way too formal and long for my liking. However, if you're a student (and if you are, I question why you are reading these files) then you'll know me as Mr Grant. I am twenty six years old and have just started at Lincoln High as the new chemistry teacher. Previously I lived in Seattle, which is where I was brought up.
I guess you want to know a little bit more about me. My teaching style is to try and make things fun for the kids. I recognise that not everyone has an interest in chemistry, or any academic subject so I try to throw in as many practical lessons as I can, to get them interested. However, I can be very strict. I don't like to be, but given the potential dangers that come with chemistry, I have to be. As for my dress style, it depends on the situation. In school, I feel I have to be fairly smart and so usually turn up to work in smart trousers and a smart shirt of some sort. Occasionally I'll wear a tie, although they don't really mix with chemistry so that's only on rare occasions. Outside of work, I'm decidedly more casual and prefer to just wear jeans and a t-shirt of some sort.
You want to know why I moved here from Seattle? There was a job going and I couldn't find one in Seattle... OK that's not the only reason. See, I was married, to a wonderful woman called Charlotte. But six months ago, she was killed in a shooting. I don't really know what happened, I wasn't with her. Anyway, I felt I couldn't stay in the area so I moved here. Now I just want to get on with my life and I guess the best way to start doing that is to throw myself into my new job.
