Three o'clock was definitely the best time of day for most Lincoln High students. The last bell rang and they were free to do as they pleased..assuming they didn't have homework to go and do. That wasn't a problem for Jem, so he was psyched to leave the school. He had done the same thing for two years, over and over again, and it was now time for a third. The first day of school had just let out..which stopped being a big deal a few years ago. It was, however, sort of a big deal for his brother, Ethan. Ethan had just started high school. Jem honestly didn't think it'd be a problem. His brother was fairly good at making friends and would probably end up known as one of the Tornones.
Waiting for his brother, the blonde junior stood on the steps outside the school. They lived in a fairly moderate apartment building a few blocks from Lincoln. As he waited, he tried to predict how his brother would turn out in high school. Jem was a lazy student with a horrible work ethic. His grades were average in all classes except math, in which he was more used to pulling a D+. Although his interests never drastically changed, he really became a new person in ninth grade. That's when you find who you are; when you realize that you're one of the 'older kids'. Ethan had similar interests when it came to school subjects, but he was still curious as to how the kid would adjust.

To everyone but the Freshman depending on the group they belonged to, the first day was not all that big of a deal considering they had been doing it for years, well obviously some had done it for one year but you know what I mean, for the freshmen who had just joined the school it was a bigger deal, new people to meet, new class and lots of new things to find and try out, it could all end up getting very confusing. Some freshmen though did have older brothers and sisters that could help them if they needed it, or if they wanted to know where something was. Ethan had really only found and asked his brother for help once during the day and that was just to ask where the The Auditorium was, which is the place he really wanted to see and get to, once getting there he had found sign ups for some acting club which of course he had instantly put his name down, this reminded him that he needed to do something after school later. The class's had been okay well that was History and English was okay but the rest where boring and not really all that good.
So as the bell went for Three o'clock he zoomed out of his Science class, forgetting to write down the homework, he was less likely to do it anyway considering his love for acting over took anything else, well his brother could be higher on the list or they might be at the same level, he had never decided that. He got out to the stairs knowing that his brother would be waiting around for him, he saw him straight away and decided to have some fun and sneak up behind him. Taking off the baseball cap he had put on this morning and stuffing it in his bag he went around Jem.
Ethan crept up behind his brother, he would of just tapped him on the back but decided to jump on him to surprise him before jumping back off again "Hey Jem," he said at least happy for now. He watched his brother as he waited for a response before sitting down on a nearby wall taking a small piece of paper out of his bag.

The approach was completely unexpected. Jem was a spaz, and being caught off-guard would always make for a big reaction. Needless to say, Ethan's greeting was far from normal and Jeremy had not even seen his brother come out of the school. When this freshman jumped on his shoulders and back down, Jem jumped immediately. Dammit, dude, so uncalled for, he said with a bit of a chuckle. The two usually got along fairly well, and Ethan usually didn't give Jem a reason to be upset with him. Their relationship was impressive as far as brothers and fighting was concerned.
Hey E, how was it? You think that now you're the big cheese actor of Lincoln and you can go sneakin' up on me? Taking a seat next to his brother, he grinned and looked at him curiously. What's that? he asked, gesturing toward a paper that he took out of his bag. His eyes watched as other students came flooding out of the school. Most kids were eager to get home, but quite honestly, Jem was in no rush. He usually wasn't. Where they lived was boring, and he hung out outside often. The brothers would return home when they wanted to, more than likely to an empty apartment.

Ethan chuckled to himself with his brothers reaction, while he did not always sneak up on his brother he loved trying to see what reactions he could get out of his brother, just as much as he loved his brother, Ethan always wondered how and outsider would describe their brother bond or relationship, maybe close, brotherly, caring or even loyal, there where so many things an outsider could say that Ethan just in all honesty did not care he got on with his brother, so what he got on with his brother, he would look out for Jem and he knew for sure that Jem would look out for him, it's even easier to get someone to help you when you can change your emotions at ease, and even fake them. His ability to change emotions had saved him from certain things on many occasions, good for if your about to get a beating to be honest.
"well maybe if you opened your eyes a little, you would of caught me," Ethan told his brother smiling, joking back at him before grinning back at his brother. he glanced up at the flood of students moving almost like a slow moving river, just not as peaceful, he like his brother preferred not to go home straight, away the good thing was he had a way to stay out longer. "Well maths and science sucked I have no idea what the teacher was going on about, History was much better and so was English," he remembered that he had homework he should of written down but decided to leave it for now. When his brother asked what he had in his hand there was a sparkle in his eyes and he handed it to his brother.
"Its a leaflet detailing about Jenson has risen the film in town, the only problem is you would have to come with me, you wont be bored though I'm sure they have a spot for a fool character," he mentioned playing with his older brother a little, he hoped he would take him if not he would find a way to go anyway.

Please, my eyes never catch you. You're like a ninja or something. He chuckled again, commenting on his brother's ability to sneak up on him. He was almost used to it, though his reaction never changed. He could always pretend that it didn't scare him, and then maybe his brother wouldn't enjoy it so much. But that'd be pointless. Ethan knew acting when he saw it. He looked at his brother and noticed what he was watching. As Ethan watched the kids leaving, Jeremy knew that he was okay with sitting where they were..that they agreed that going home wasn't going to be as fun. He was glad they never argued about that. Hanging out alone was never as entertaining.
He listened, nodding, as he heard about the kid's day. Well yea, those subjects suck. Don't worry about it, ya don't need those in life. Ah, what a good role model he was. Whatever, it's not like he was misleading his brother. Ethan was smart enough to know how to succeed without outstanding grades in math and science. He laughed a little when he saw how excited Ethan seemed to be when he mentioned the slip, unfolding it in his hand to read while his brother explained what it was.
E, that's awesome. I'm not tryin' out for some part, but I can get ya there. I'm never bored at those auditions. Being an older brother of a little celebrity was insane. Ethan hadn't landed a big role yet, but his time would come. It fascinated Jem, seeing all the actors practicing before their auditions. He could hardly believe how much talent some people had, especially at a relatively young age.

"No your just old," he joked at his brother also returning the chuckle, before ducking and moving out of the way as quick as possible before Jem could even try to do anything. To be honest he did not care if his brother did anything to him because it was always fun anyway. It was like how is brother always had the same reaction it made it more fun, if he faked a reaction it would be a bit annoying to Ethan because he would notice it. Someone in bis class in the school before this one had tried it once, that had not gone well.
As soon as he heard what Jem had to say on the subjects and saying that he did not need them he gave his brother a are you serious look while at the same time looking confused, obviously the thing here was that he was faking it but he was so good at this that his brother would not known. "I thought you were better than that" he said pretending to sound upset before suddenly grinning "But you seriously are the best awesomest brother ever," he said grinning from ear to ear at his brother, loving it.
If you look carefully his smile got even wider when Jem agreed to take him down in to town to get an audition, he loved how his brother would help him out when he needed it. "Thanks Jem love you," he said hugging him tightly this time very very happy. He put it back in his pocket and locked at his brother a little "What should we do before we go?"he asked his brother.
